Anyone have anything good or bad to say about the Echo Layla soundcard and breakout box? I'm bidding on one on E-bay, just want to make sure I'm doing a good thing...so far the price is a frikkin' steal, but there's still a few days to go. I also saw an API luchbox, current bid was around $250, so that's tempting as well. Got to ask myself, at what point will my wife ACTUALLy kill me? LOL!

I have a laptop with which I use Cubasis VST with, and I have a Tascam US-122 and a Behringer 12 channel/4 preamped input mixer, and a couple AKG hyper cardoids and a mxl condenser and some dynamic mics, ive done a couple demo projects with my band, but i cant seem to get a rid of the live sound of my drum set

I've been having many problems with the two since I bought them about a week ago. I've solved many of them but there is still this one that I cant fix. This is what happens, I'll record my drums in Cubase SX...then I'll try to edit it or add eqs and effects to it.

How do the two reissues sound different from one another(the TBX and Custom Classic)? The TBX is closer to the older AC30's, and the CC ones have added features I think. Are the valve configurations the same? I know the TBX's are about $400 more and the CC's are made in China.

It's a bird, it's a plane. Nah, it's just me, eBrown100 and actually I'm trying to sprout wings and fly. How does it all start though I wonder. I'm looking at picking up a Maxtor 80GB external USB 2 HD for backing up my song files. Its 7200 RPM, so you know. Does anyone know of any stabilty issues with these or other similar external drives? I'm just sick of having a bunch of CD-R's floating around, and am concerned about CD-R stability. Would the Maxtor be a good alternative for long term storage?

Hello all. I'm new here and glad I found this forum. I was wondering if anyone out there has any info on the techniques/equipment/mics that Nicko McBrain used in the Piece of Mind sessions. I read an article years ago in which he described in great detail how they achieved the drum sound (which I think is amazing) on that album, but I have no idea what happened to it.
