My first post here, as you can see. This place looks like a mix of professionals and people who don't know the first thing, which is sometimes a good thing. Unfortunately in this case, I'm the latter.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone thought their would be a difference between having an Audiophile 2496/192 and a Dmp3 preamp or just a straight up Delta 1010lt.
I will be recording with a mic, electric guitar, keyboard(usb), drum machine (midi).

Hey guys, another ignorant sumbitch here. I was wondering about the different sockets for mobo's. I've heard to stay with the 939 but I can't/don't want to dish out the money for a 3500+ amd processor which is the minimum for this socket, right? Are people still building daws with the 754? and do they stay away from SATA with this socket?

OK, so my friend lent me his Boss BR 1600 recording studio and it was working fine, but now when starting up it freezes up on the loading screen for some reason.

Is there any way I can unfreeze it or reset it ? I really need help bad because he wants it back and its a pretty expensive piece of equipment.

Is this a good piece of equipment? Also, how flexable between recording and live? thanks.

I want something that has the quality of lets say the digi002 but with less inputs.

I will only be recording 2 tracks at the most at one time.

So I dont need 8 mic inputs and 8 1/4s.

Hey guys, i'm in need of some help. I'm currently using a RODE nt1000 for EVERYTHING. it's gotta go. I'm about an inch away from buying an AT4060. It will be used for mainly rap vocals. I have never heard this mic, but it has been recommended to me by multiple professional engineers.

I know adobe isn't exactly the first name that comes to mind when we think of digital audio. It carries a hefty price tag and I'm sure there are some cheaper programs that are better but say i could get it for $130. Are there any cheaper programs that are any better? I dont have ANYTHING yet and I'm recording with an sm57 with an xlr-TRS cable and a TRS to 1/8 phone adapter.

Anybody use or own one of these babies? I got a catalog from Full Compass that had an ad for a "Kickpad" made by Earthworks. I also had a free demo disc of this little guy, mailed to me from Earthworks. It sounds AWESOME on the demo!
But I wanted to know if anybody has anything to add about it.

I have an MC who i've been recording lately... our vocal booth in the studio isn't huge, but its got totally dead sound... and this MC is 6'8, 300 pounds.. big guy, and i find that.. no matter how i place the vocal mic... i find he has the boomy quality to his voice that i dont like.. His voice sounds best about 7 inches away from the condenser mic.
