Well right now I am 27 and have almost my first semi professional home studio, I have been always facinated with the acoustics and sounds.

I'm planning on building a new desktop.

The computer I have now is too old and it's not handling the amount of tracks and plugins required, plus my girlfriend needsa computer so this is the opportunity to get rid of it and get a new one.

Can anyone with experience with these units give a non bias opinion of how they match up. Which one is better and why you have your opinion etc...Thanks guys

hey, I've been looking at the Yamaha Dr 880 by Boss... I played around with one at the local music shop and here are the parameters of usages hehe... mostly writing music with the grooves supplied by this unit along with tracking the original work to a DAW... I will also want to use this unit live with the same music...

I wanted to know if anyone on here lives in a "hot spot" or just an area that is really happening. I lived in Richmond,VA for 15 years(not a hot spot) Now I live in Scranton,PA 2 years (everybody wants to know why I would move here) cause it's not a hot spot.

so if i record on two different systems and lets say a need a tracks from one put on the other system, what is the best way to do this? ill just have certain drum parts on one machine, no effects or anythin, i just want the basic file at full quality, how do i do this my friends?

i have a new-to-me allen and heath sys 8 with xlr(only) bus outs, and a fostex 80 reel-to-reel, rca in/outs.
i am looking for a xlr-rca snake to hook up, but i was just told by a salesman i'd *probably* need transformers on every channel, due to impedance issues.
please advise!
