hey there all, my name is quinn, ive been playing git for a while in a three piece band, recently we have required some more gear and would like to record using a tape deck. i have a crappy basement rectangular room about 15X12X8 (L,W,H). first perhaps i can start with my gear then whoever can suggest an optimum positioning of equipment i would be greatful.

how can i maximize my room sound and recording with my gear?

analog 2 inch wind down sound on DAW?

It may be a rather childish question but can anyone help out on this. I know some have heard this, but you know that sound, used mostly at the end of pop-punk songs where it sounds as if the song just slows and stops. The most recent example I can think of is in the new Lil Jon song "What you gon do" radio edit version during the chorus on the word $hit.

Outboard EQ for monitors?

I got these Nady model 250 50/50w biamped near field monitors from my home recording studio. They sound very muddy to me. If I EQ down the base up to 160hz and raise up the treble, they sound better. Problem is, I drive a 2nd pair of JBL speakers off the same audio output (Sound card on PC) and the JBLs sound great to my ears(full size passive JBLs with Yamaha 100W amp.)
