I do recordings of classical music and ethnic music. This ethnic's
recordings sometimes are field recordings, without AC power.
I'm in the task of upgrading my gear. I've recently purchased a matched pair of microphones: Schoeps CMC6-xt, cardioids. I think it is a good start.

For a second monitors in the studio what you by...

Active:
- M-Audio BX8
- Samson Resolv 80a with Resolv 120a(subwoofer)
- Event TR8XL
- Fostex PM-2

Passive: with the amp Samson Audio Servo 260
- Event 2020 passiv. V.2
- Event PSP 8

I have a couple questions about the Mackie HDR 24/96 hard disk recorder:

First of all, how many of you have had expiernce with it.
Is it it possible to use the D8B from Mackie with this hard disk recorder? (Digital 8 bus)

I am interested in trying to replicate the sounds you would hear in a record recorded in the 1930's or 40's, that is, really lo-fi and tape hiss-y. How would I best go about EQing my tracks to replicate that sound successfully and authentically? I am recording on a computer using adobe audition. Any feedback would be really helpful.

My burnings are 100% correct.
This is tested with different CD's that all test's OK in Sequoia and afterwards has been digitally played into Sequoia and then make a perfect null when played phase inverted to the original signal.

I keep trying to figure out why this implementation is necessary...}
Almost every piece of gear I have hardly reaches 40Khz of Frequency response...

Hi all...I sent out my demo about 10 months ago to 10-12 different labels. 2 responded and said that they "really liked it" and had been playing it around the office. But that was it. No offers. What do I do next?

p.s. these are not mainstream music labels...but nonetheless very respected and popular in the underground scene.

I am recording through my Digi 002 and my best mic is a MXL V69 tube (mogami edition). I also have a PreSonus "Blue Tube" stereo pre.

First, should I use the Blue Tube pre or the 002 pre? If I use the Blue Tube, how do I achieve a rich tone (warm)?

Second, any placement and setting tips for getting a rich sound. So far all is too thin . . . .

i use a Delta 1010 at the moment. i was looking at upgrading to the MOTU 828MKII but at the same time i have artist that need PT and i really need to master the software since i might be working be working in a Hd2 studio.
