Can you guys recommend a control surface for Nuendo? I don't need front end like mic preamps, just good faders that respond well with Nuendo and panners. A shuttle/jog would be nice too. I have a Houston that I have been demoing, but I just started to run into some problems with it and I want to have some alternatives.

I use 2 drum machines and would like to know if running them through a decent pre, would that yield lustful or some sort of sonic advantage? I use a Akai MPC4000 which I think can go either way as far as using a pre because it has some alright pre's itself. On the other hand, my Roland R8 could defenitely go for a pre because it is'nt as hot as the Akai. Any thoughts?

What would you guys suggest to purchase for a home studio. I am planning to get one going and have read a lot on them.

I would like to do electronic music like IDM and D'n'B and Electronic Pop style for my side line...but my main idae is post production for movie.

Hi i am a newbie to this site and i am getting my first setup
i am looking at the Great River mp2 and mp2nv as my mic preamp/di for my setup.

I have a Digi 002 with -10db rca and +4db 1/4" outputs. My CD recorder has rca -10db inputs. I once used the +4db output to the CD recorder, and the sound was loud and distorted. So my question is this...if I had a CD recorder with balanced XLR +4db inputs, would a CD made with this recorder be LOUDER than a disc recorded with my -10db CD recorder?

completely happy with it. I'm using the latest driver from M-audio.

Does anyone know what type of mics, compressors, etc are used for the vocals in the group Morphine? I'm not so interested in the "effect" stuff, more how they get the clean vocal sound. Thanks.
