OK, I'm sure this must be simple, but I don't know how to do this. I am running Cubase SX and I also use Finale alot. What I want to be able to do is use Finale and write parts there for marimba and have it play back with marimba sounds that I have recorded myself.

So, yeah I'm a newbie, thing is I like "composing" music on Guitar Pro. I was using the SB Live soundcard but recently I bought and installed the M-Audio Audiophile (PCI). Well the problem is that the Audiophile has no Midi Synth. I want to get rid of the SB Live (I currently have both cards installed) but I need a midi synth for Guitar Pro.

I've got an itch to buy gear and I figure I should upgrade my equipment. I'd like opinions on what hardware I should upgrade in my home studio? My current setup consists of the following. Funding would probably be capped at $2,000

Right now i have an MBOX, and was thinking about switching to a Digi 002 Rack.
Im only using this for vocals ( i run into the MBOX from a Focusrite ISA220 ),
so will i get better sound using the Digi 002?
Or am i mainly just paying for more inputs/outputs.

and not as if bloggin here, but I feel an explanation could yield for me maybe an idea or something, to maybe augment my cinfidence, or somethin,who knows perhaps even a solution if my descript which is likely to sound more like a shuttle collision than an account of events leading up to a failure of service...unless the scenery sounds familiar to anyone, who doe have my sympathy and consolatio

What are some programs that match the basic features of sampletank? ie its competition. I'm thinking for sure this is what i need for my midi controller to really shine, but id like to know what else is out there.

i have a budget of about 300$. and i would like to record at home. i have the softwares, and the music, all i need is a mic and something that connects it to my computer and gives a good quality sound rather tahn using the built in mic in and a radioshack microphone. I would also like the thing to have an input so i can record waht i am DJing.. because i also like to make mixtapes.

I'm planning to skip the proprietary Digidesign I/Os and go in for Apogee or PrismSound.

I figured that I need max. about 16 channels of AD. but for monitoring I may need only two channels of DA or may even stick to the DA of the Yamaha DM 2000.
