I want to post my problem here to see if anybody's encountered it before. I have found a workaround for the time being, but i'm not satisfied with the answer I'm getting.

Alright, here's my problem. I can't get my drum machine into Pro Tools via the Digi 001. I have no idea what the problem is. I have the out of the drum machine to the in of the 001, and vice versa, but nothing is happening. The drum machine is a Alesis SR-16 (if that matters). Can someone please help me with what I need to do to get my MIDI to work in Pro Tools, with my PC? Thanks.

I'm not sure if this going to make sense but...

1) I'm making a record that I'd like to sound like an old 70's soul/R&B Vinyl LP. Outside of pop and crackles (and within Pro Tools), does anybody have any suggestions to create that effect?

Anyone have experience with this mic for the kick drum?

The workhorse here has been a Shure Beta 52 which is awesome if you work for a while finding the sweet spot. I've used AKG D112's in the past - really classic mic but just want something different.

Thumbs up or thumbs down on the Audix D6? Sounds great from what I've read but would like some real testimony too.

Has anyone use KRK Rokit8 ? Is it good? I planing to get speaker for my studio but I have no idae which speaker is good and not so expensive. Can its compare with Genelec 1029?
