I just ordered it because this is a deal i cannot refuse! 166 euro's (180 dollars?) for a 2x5 band parametric eq from Alesis. So what's the catch? Does it contain 30 year old transistors or is Alesis desperate for customers coss this seems too good to be true.

Has anybody successfully used the split keyboard function on an XK2 to output Left keyboard into MIDI and retain Right keyboard as Hammond?

I'm the bassist with my band, and want to hook my Alesis synth to the Left output of my XK2, and play standard Hammond with the Right half of the keyboard.

I am about to buy a new monitor amp for my home studio. I have a pair of tannoy reveal passive.
I have the studio at home so I cant play very loud but I want the amp to deliver all the transients of percussive instruments.

Do you have any suggestions witch amp to buy? The budget is about maximum 300usd.

I consider that most of my mixes come out pretty much as I want them to, yet at times I just cant get it righ, no matter how hard I try the mix sounds too reverby even when I dont use any verb?

I have troubles gettig the pro sound, the flat type response with a real airy type effect, with nothing jumping out too far, Know where I am coming from?

both of these monitors are available 2nd hand near me for a good price.

The RRP new is pretty similar, but I can't listen to both beforehand to decide myself.

If any of you have input, it'd be greatly appreciated.

What do you guys think? I'm considering buying a nice tube pre (maybe that N72 thingie over at seventhcirclestudios.com) strictly to run my sounds through.

My primary concern is vocals, but I think I'm gonna go the clean route (rnp style) and if it needs edge, then I'll either run it back out to my dirty pre or apply a virtual tube or two.
