SCUM ALERT!

I got hosed by Charles F. Shutters, of "Interrupt Computers" of Spokane WA., Didn't use parts that were specified and when we started to exchange things to fix it he welched on the exchanges and refunds. He still has a power supply that was underrated for the system that he never reimbursed me for!

Can NTFS save me?

I have a 100GB WD Caviar on our server that suddenly stopped working. That is, it doesn't show up at all in the system. Previous to that there were some alerts on write failures to this disk over the network.

How can I get access to the disk so that I can run some disk-tool and recover the data?

It is mounted in a system that runs Win2000 advanced server.

Anybody?

NTFS saved my ASSets

Man, NTFS saved me a whole lotta trouble. A computer I had built for a friends business ended up with a corrupted HD( due to people shutting down the machine by the power strip). I couldn't fix it on-site, so I took the drive home, put it into the removable HD bay on my ANUS as a slave on the secondary controller.

Two approaches:

For the sake of discussion, let's agree there are 2 approaches to recording multi track pop music. The first approach would be to use as little signal processing on route to the recording medium. Ideally a mic into a straight wire with gain, to the multi track recorder. Any balancing adjustments would be made post recording stage. So everything on tape is recorded flat.

ADAT XT20 or M20?

I am currently shopping around for an ADAT machine. I've been looking at the XT20 and M20. I can't tell much about the difference between the 2 though. Yes, the M20 has more I/O and 24 bit processing, but is it a worthwhile machine? My biggest question is: if I record on an M20, can I mix on the XT20?
