Naming SOnar MIDI Inputs

Please excuse me if this is obvious. I have been using Cakewalk products for many years and seem to remember always seeing OMNI, 1, 2, 3...16 for the MIDI inputs on the track. The MIDI output always shows the actual MIDI port name. Now I use three different MIDI interfaces and would like to be able to direct a specific MIDI in to a specific MIDI out.

My poor car :(

Well...I was violated on thursday night..my car was stolen! Came out Friday morning and it was not where I parked it!

Choosing 24 track hard disc recorders?

Greetings,

I am now in the market for a 24 track hard disc recorder. Out of the 3 famous choices, Tascam,Mackie and Alesis, which one is the better of the lot?

I know the Tascam is considerably more expensive.

Also, which of the Mackies (I am not useing a computer), the SDR or MDR? What is the difference between the two?

Thank you! :)

a little confused about p4b266 IRQ assignments.

i'm looking at my owners manual (ASUS p4b266) and i'm trying to make sure i understand what the chart on page 2-14 (IRQ Assigments for this Motherboard) really means. before i try and contact ASUS support i thought i'd try here first. i understand what a shared interrupt is but as i look at this chart the top ledgend says A thru H. What does this represent?

Recording your own stuff. .

There's got to be a better way to record your OWN (music you and you alone write and play) stuff. I just got my digital audio set up going (sounds great), and I was Micing my classical guitar with just an sm57 (till I do my mic shoot out and get a good large diaphragm condenser), and I noticed that I was picking up all this crazy noise from my computer (even though it's not that loud).
