PT Front-end conundrum. Any help would be appreciated..
Hi there, folks,
I've been shuffling around at the back of the forum for a while - thought I'd make my first post.
Brauner Vm1
Hi Everyone,
Whats people's opinions on the VM1 for rock vox. The price in Australia is quite good (just under US$3000) and I have heard good reports for ballads and female vox. I do a lot of female rock/pop vocals, I wonder if it would have enough meat, for rock male vocals as well.

Hello,
I'm thinking about buying the 788 and really don't have any experience with multitracks. If anyone has anywords of advice about the 788 in particular or generally, it would be much appreciated.Thank you.

Sound Card PCI for win2000 advice needed!
Hi, Well i'm on a budget of 200 or less (the boss would prefer less). Using Sound Forge software. Mostly analog voice recording so 2 tracks would be my max. Input if from a Mackie 1604 mixer. Any suggestions? Besides getting a more realistic buget. :-)
thanks in advance!

Powerful drum sound ever!
Hi everyone,
I was recording a drum track last night at my studio and the craziest thing happened!
First let me explain that I play all the instruments and do all the producing/recording/engineering myself, so as you can imagine at times getting a good track can take quite a lot of time (sometimes up to 8 hours with no accomplished result!)

Mult wiring
Dear Collective Wisdom,
In an effort to save a few bucks, I'd like to create my own mult (1 TRS into 2 TS) connection. The purpose of this mult is to connect my mixer with a stereo compressor. Will this require connecting the grounds on all three plugs to one another? If so, what's the best cable to use? Thanks, --A novice

Pacific verses Pearls
I'm trying to get an inexpensive kit for my home studio. I found a Pacific kit for about $299 but I will have to get a cymbal set too, like the Sabian B8 set for $180. I have a friend that has a Pearl Export kit with some Zildgian cymbals that he'll sell to me for $350. I want something that will tune well and sound good for recording.

group edit
in pro tools, you can set up editing groups - whatever you do to one track in the edit window gets applied to soundbites in the same place in all tracks in the group. is there something analagous in DP?
