Powerful drum sound ever!

Hi everyone,

I was recording a drum track last night at my studio and the craziest thing happened!

First let me explain that I play all the instruments and do all the producing/recording/engineering myself, so as you can imagine at times getting a good track can take quite a lot of time (sometimes up to 8 hours with no accomplished result!)

Mult wiring

Dear Collective Wisdom,

In an effort to save a few bucks, I'd like to create my own mult (1 TRS into 2 TS) connection. The purpose of this mult is to connect my mixer with a stereo compressor. Will this require connecting the grounds on all three plugs to one another? If so, what's the best cable to use? Thanks, --A novice

Pacific verses Pearls

I'm trying to get an inexpensive kit for my home studio. I found a Pacific kit for about $299 but I will have to get a cymbal set too, like the Sabian B8 set for $180. I have a friend that has a Pearl Export kit with some Zildgian cymbals that he'll sell to me for $350. I want something that will tune well and sound good for recording.

Card reader interface into iMac

My son is thinking of buying a combined digital I/O and A/D device so he can do some serious home recording with an iMac. One product he likes has a memory card interface identical to those that are used with digital cameras. The product is made to be used with Powerbooks that have built-in card readers, and the actual output is a card on the end of a cable.

Which windows?

I know that I have probably missed some good discussion on this already, and I don't mean
disrespect by posting a completely new topic for this. However, what are the feelings about
Win98/2000/XP. I am running an athlon 900Mhz DAW with an Echo Layla/Mia on 98 (software
