Has anyone 'been there, done that' yet?

I just stumbled across the press release for the new mic from BLUE, the Baby Bottle.

$650 list should mean around $500 for an extremely cool looking little mic that probably sounds pretty good too. I know that its not due for a couple of months, but has anyone in the biz seen a prototype? Any comments?

Do you guys have an opinion on what is easier to mix. A 3 piece power trio on about 12 to 18 tracks, or a 48trk+ mega production. Just curious.

I'm working on a project,during the singer sound check
we found that the U-48 was more efficient than the U87 .The point is : Is there a non-valve mic that features that kind of tube-feeling ?or do we have to go tube,anyway ?
BTW, except for its lack of gain,we liked the 48 better,

I'm getting to where I'm starting to get comfortable with how all my invidual sounds sound in my mix, but for some reason I cant get a lot of depth out of the individual instruments. Is it because I dont have any high-end mic preamp's (YET!) and I'm mixing all in the box within PTLE, or is there anything I can do to add depth.

Ok, so I realize that this isn't a vocalist newsgroup, however, there doesn't seem to be one besides those geared towards opera singers, so I'll ask here since someone out there might have had some experience with this.

I am working with a band who is one of the greatest hard rock bands I've heard in a while, except one thing, the drummer is not great. From what I was told, they made a demo and it took their drummer 3 days to get 2 passable drum tracks with a click.

Opinions on the Groove Tube VIPRE Microphone preamp?

I'm building a new PT/DP rig and was wondering... what's the best choice for a wordclock master these days? I've used Aardsync boxes in the past but I hear there are some cheaper, and maybe better, alternatives now. Lucid? Rosendahl? Or should I get a wordsync DA for my AD-8000 and use that as the master clock?
