Two Apogees into one PC?

Hi all, maybe someone can help me understand this...
I'd like to have two Apogee Rosetta converters running into a PC (using Logic). This would require two S/PDIF inputs, when most soundcards only have one. Can this be done with two separate soundcards following S/PDIF sync?
I'm assuming that the two Apogees would be connected via word clock.

Whats the diff between Neve 1073 & 1089 ?

Is the difference ONLY the direction of gain stages on the Line Input. ie Only the WAY it clicks through the steps? Or are there more important SOUND QUALITY related differences?

Assuming they look almost identical (do they?) Then, if, say, you were in an other country and hired a 1073 and a 1089 turned up instead would you:

info on from-scratch pc building?

Hey all. I'm thinking about building a PC to use for Logic (seems like the strongest pc multitrack option in terms of power and sound) maybe also Sound Forge and Acid, and Reaktor to get out my complete tweaking jones. I figure PC is where my bucks go furthest in terms of power, not to mention upgrading options.

TRUE preamp/AD "Precision 2"

Anybody have a take on TRUE? (currently has an 8channel version out, the Precision 2 is coming soon)Neumann is recommending TRUE for all of it's mikes, and obviously has a motive, but they wouldn't likely connect their name without cause. The engineer, Tim Spencer has supposedly had a lot to do with development of Tascam products like their 2424 recorder.

SSHDR-1 vs. R.E.D.

I currently own a SSHDR-1 unit that I picked up locally, I have yet to use the unit beacuse I have been using the spectral systems Prismfor the most part ( both considered to be dinosaurs in the digital audio realm ). I was considering selling the SSHDR-1 and upgrading to a newer SS system bringing myself into the future. In my situation is it worth the cost and learning curve.
