PC Survey - CPU/mobo/video/hard drives
I'd like to survey those running Paris on a PC concerning their CPU/mobo/video and hard drive. I'm putting a system together and want to get something that seems to work well.
Please list what works for you.

Pro Tools 5.1...midi or no?
Is anyone else experiencing serious midi problems since the upgrade to 5.1? At the time of writing trying to record a click track for a new session what should be at lets say 9.1.000 is at 9.1.009/010/012. . This brings PT midi to new depths of despair... Is anyone else having these hassles?
Simon

in response to Aaron
If you would like to use more then one R.Ed. unit in a system (I.E. 2 R.Ed.s for 64 trcks, etc)and would like to mix with the R.Ed. mix/software. Unless you have 2 Mixpanders (1 per unit)
you will have to make a physical connection between the the 2 in order to have a common bus the travels between them.
Does that answer you q, mate? any others? :)

firewire...and SCSI
well this was originally was a question dealing with a PCI-to-Firewire card, but i got to thinking. if i'm not mistaken, the PCI slot has a transfer rate of 133 or so Mb per second for each slot. i thought i saw a company that advertised firewire PCI card for PC's, advertised with a xfer rate of 400Mb/sec. how can this be? the PCI would bottleneck this to 133, correct?

Guitar Phase questions
I've been tracking a "Christian Death Metal" band for the last week and a half. The guitars were all recorded by Micing a 4X12 cab with a 421 and a 57. Both close and faceing the cab about 6 inches away. They seemed to be in phase.

EV RE38?
Anyone have any experience with this mic? Thought I knew 'em all, but this one is off the radar--no mention of it in any of my books or Electro-Voice literature.

Well?
I guess someone has to ask it...
How about a THOROUGH update on Mackie/SS? It's been a long time, and I'm sure a lot of us would like to know what's going on...

Hello! New to Forum..
Hi, I am new to the Forum.
I was wondering if anyone was familiar with transferring their songs in Nuendo to another Neundo system. I used to work with Cakewalk Pro Audio 9..and there was a way to save as a bundle and move to another computer and be able to play..Right now I have to copy everything from the Image, Fade, Audio folders to play on another Nuendo system.
