'm looking for a pair of monitors for recording. I'm currently using Bose 301 Series IV bookshelf speakers to mix (they're also the speakers I use for my stereo system) . I've worked with them long enough to know what my mixes should sound like on them for it to sound proper on any stereo system. However, I would like to get a pair of actual studio monitors with a flat frequency response.

Having been involved in music for so long it seems like a silly question, but where do you go to find new music the day it is released? When an artist releases a single, how do you know? Is there a convenient place to keep track of this that isn't the radio?

I'm looking to buy a new amp for our studios pair of NS-10s and was wondering where to look without breaking the bank. We are on a pretty tight budget at this time and while others have suggestion Bryston and the likes, it is unfortunately out the question at this point. Is there an affordable amp that will do the job well? What is everybody else using on theirs?

I have been trying to rewire FL studio 10 to Sonar x1 Producer but the insert rewire device is greyed out and have no what the issue is. I was able to do this when using FL studio 9 and Sonar 8.5 producer. Can anyone give me a link on how to do this or maybe walk me through how to set it up? Thanks.

Did a live recording recently of a friend playing acoustic guitar in a club. Was able to get a clean feed off the PA into my ZOOMH4N.

Can anyone suggest some best practices when working with acoustic guitar in Audition or similar DAW?
What compression, equalization should I use?
How can I reduce some of the harshness and 'buzzing' sounds the strings make?

So, I've got some hum in the system, pretty sure it wasn't there yesterday. Where could it have come from? Well... I may have been making some cables today. The thing is as soon as I noticed the hum I started looking back over my work. It was nothing pretty, but everything was in its proper place no wires touching, no streams crossed.

The vision:

I will play to a click track emanating from a DAW. The DAW will be aware of a linear movement forwards through time (basically, a playhead moving through the session).

I wish they would send a general email regarding their drivers. I just found out today, weeks later, that there is a new driver version out. Some nice features as well. A low latency setting in UC. This is news to me. Forgive me if I'm just out of the loop but I never knew this feature was there. If it wasn't then, hooray! lol. At any rate, new drivers are available at PreSonus download page.
