Tube preamps
Preamps are very "subjective" as we all know. Though I think it would be really helpful if people could perhaps post their top 5 choices for roughly about 1200 dollars. This is weed out some of the lower end units and focus on mid range units which I am sure many of us could use in our studios. I am looking to buy one myself, and this would be my first. I really could use some help.

Custom DAW PC builders
I am looking for feedback from anyone who has dealt with these or other Custom DAW PC builders. First off, I do NOT want to build my own. I am capable, but frankly it is worth it to me to spend a few hundred dollars to avoid the time, effort, and frustration involved.

Windows 8 for recording
Doing some searching, I'm finding very positive responses from people using Win 8 with Sonar and a few other DAW's. It looks like its going to be a really solid version, but, is it more for the mobile world, and to compete with Apple's ipad's etc, don't know, but its faster and more streamlined than Win 7 which means, we should be able to optimize it as slick as Windows 7 if not more.

External soundcard using TI's PCM 4202 converter?
Hi :-)
I'm trying to find a soundcard that uses Texas Instruments PCM 4202 A/D converter. Korg makes the MR-1000, 2000 & MR-2 but I'd prefer to find something less costly. Any of you know if this exists?
Greetings,
Jesper
Creating Music for Video
Hey, I happen to be looking for some quick business end advice. I've been researching a bit, but can't seem to find my answer. I've always come to this site and found a lot of intelligent answers (I basically come and read forums here almost every day for a couple years now, and feel I've learned quite a bit aside from my schooling), So i now come asking for a little advice.

RME HDSPe MADI FX 390 channels
390 channels = 194 ins, 196 out
Looks very impressive and at 14 samples and no errors.
But who here used this many channels? Its got to be a very small number of studios compared to most yes? Never the less, looks very impressive.
