Zoom H4n vs. Low end M Audio interface
So I've been digging around and stumbled on these Zoom H4n (Or H2) portable recording devices. From everything I'm reading online these things sound like a dream come true for those like me who are on a budget. I currently have a M Audio Interface unit (lower price range) which I've been plugging mics in directly for recording.

Guitar tone sounding really brittle when I turn up the mid range.
I'm playing a PRS Custom 22 into a DSL100.
Here's how I have it (it might look crazy, but sounds good.) :
Presence: 5
Treble: 1ish
Middle: 2ish
Bass: 7-8ish
Volume: 7-8ish
Gain: 2, or up to 2.5ish for metal.
Deep: On
Tone Shift: Off
Ultra Gain: Off
What exactly does the Tone Shift button on my DSL100 do?
I've never understood this.
Shure MX153 and Wired Bodypack?
Hey all,
I need a pair of microphones to use for interviewing. The more I understand about mics and proper usage etc. the more I think a headworn mic would provide the best results when interviewing people with no mic handling skills (and dial back gain to reduce room noise.)

Turbosound Milan MI5 vs. Yamaha DXR15 vs. FBT Promaxx 14a?
Hi,
I'm currently looking to upgrade my current pair of JBL EON 15G2's to use with live bands. I would like to be able to put a reasonable amount of kick, bass, 4x vocals, keys and guitar. I would also like to add trumpet and sax on occasions.
Click/Pop Removing
Hey Everybody!
I'm having a problem with clicks and pops in my song. Even when I blow up the waveform, I can't even see the clicks. I'm not sure how to get rid of them. I've tried to EQ the clicks out but have to take out to much of the high-endto make it leave. Any tips?
PS. . I'm using Pro Tools 10.
Thanks and God Bless!

Getting ready to revamp, could use some advice
Currently I have the PreSonus Firestudio 26x26 as my audio interface connected to a 2009 Mac 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM running 10.6.8. I have not purchased a full version of any sequencer but have been playing around with Cubase, Sonar, and Reaper. I strictly use the preamps on the Firestudio and have a very small but decent collection of mics.
Universal Audio LA610 + Firestudio Tube vs. . Universal Audio Apollo
Looking to put together a decent little home studio...
I have about $2,000 to spend on my interface / preamp, just unsure on what would be more beneficial... a UA LA610 Preamp / Compressor combo with a lower end interface (Firestudio Tube) or the new UA Apollo interface (which seems to have pretty good preamps anyways)?
How do you transition from playing rhythm live (to backtrak) to lead guitar?
As a Garage guitarest I sometimes play to a crowd. I saw Queen's (tie your mother down) video Brian may starts out playing the rhythm then plays the lead But all the while the rhythm keeps playing in the back ground. There is only him and the Bass player. How does he do this?
Reduce static?
Hi. I am new to recording and this forum and I wanted some advice on reducing static and other background noise when recording. I am attempting to record a guitar and a mic through direct input to my pc (I don't have an interface yet) and with both i get a constant static.
