As we all know, an MP3's time is consistent and will line up with a parent wave file(at least on a 4 minute song.) But why does an mp3 have anywhere from 20-30ms of extra time at the beginning of the file?

Hello everyone. I'm new to the whole sound recording way of life and decided to bring my questions to the pros after much research with little results. I'm currently looking to find myself a recording setup for vocals. This will only be used for singing/rapping. I have a budget of between 500-800 dollars (would love to stay lower if possible).

Listening to playback right now. Man, just the mojo of the reels spinning gives the studio a better vibe. I need to start cutting my own masters to wax! I gotta say I do enjoy the freedom of no pitch correction.

I'm pretty new to recording. I record rap music n get beats from producers so I only have to worry about recording/mixing vocals. I use Magix Music Studio 12 Deluxe. Im having a hard time grasping the concept of how to set up aux buses. I want to avoid having to apply different effects to several tracks simply because its a pain and I don't want to slow down my program.
