Recording Glockenspiel (Bells)
Forums
I am going to be recording a bell set for a Indie/Hawaiian/Folk kind of song. I thought about just using a keyboard or MIDI sound, but I feel there is more integrity in going for the actual acoustic instrument.
Here are my current available mic choices:
1 LDC - AT2020
2 SDC - Cheap Nady's
1 SM58
Multiple Cheap Nady Drum Mics

Bend Manipulation
Forums
Hello,
I want to bend some ambient noise that I'm making through my guitar. I'm not sure if I'm using the right term. I want to change the sound in the same way as the nob that comes standard on most cheap keyboards does, bringing the note down seamlessly one or more steps.
Thanks for your help!

Church recording challenge
Forums
I've been handling the care and feeding of the church sound reinforcement system for a while now and doubling as the roadie for our traveling singers. FWIW, the church PA is a garden variety TOA mixer/amp in a rack with Shure SM58 wireless mics, wired podium mics on the pulpit and and lectern, and a Tascam tape deck. We've been distributing and posting podcasts of the sermon.

Otari MTR-10 voltages
Forums
I recently acquired an Otari MTR-10 tape machine on Ebay. While it was promised in pristine condition, I am finding a lot of issues. One thing I ran into is that the power supply voltages labeled + and - 26 volts on the schematics (and also on the front panel indicator lamp) are actually coming out at + and - 22.5 volts.

Problem with my bass sounds.
Forums
Hi, whenever I play any tunes from my wharfedale monitors the bass is greatly increased when panned hard right or hard left. I'm wondering how them playing together could reduce the bass, and how to prevent this issue, thank you. (I am a bass fanatic)

32 channel MADI AD/DA
Forums
Hi,
just stumbled upon this nice piece of DAC: ANDIAMO - MADI AD/DA Converter
Seems to be a well done converter. The specs look very promising and the price is very good as well (1.900,- EUR).
They also make an AES version of it.

The Impending Death of TDM
Forums
A lot of discussion over Pro Tools going Native and even HD Native. Is there something in the works? Obviously. How close is it? Well it exists already.
My question? Why the baby steps? This is old news over at the DUC but I thought, I'd bring it on over for discussion if anyone is interested.
