how to permanently mount a Beta91A to a Piano
Forums
Looking to permanently mount a Shure Beta91A to the lid of a piano, but shy of using tape, I'm not really sure how to mount it.
Would it be a bad idea to screw it to the lid? Self adhesive tape?
I'm sure I'm not the one.
Thanks,

Music Duplication/Replication Companies?
Forums
I'm not sure which term to use, but I am looking at releasing an EP here shortly. I was going to just do 100-300 CD's, but I realized that the price jump to 1000 per CD actually seems to make more sense (300 cost like 615 before shipping, 1000 cost 890 before shipping).

Avantone CR-14 Ribbon
Forums
Tonight I finally got to use the Avantone on some tracks. Lead female vocals and backing vocals. I used it with an ADK TT tube mic both through an ISA 428 mic preamp into Pro Tools. The outs on the pres were sent through the line ins on the Soundcraft so I could add some verb for the vibe for her vocal parts without printing the verbs.

Schoeps - CMC5 vs CMC6
Forums
On my wish list of stuff to buy is the CMC6. I've used them a few times and have had good luck with them. However, I have a friend who is selling a set of CMC5 and I was curious if the difference between the two is worth holding out for the CMC6? I am actually only worried that the roll off frequency of the CMC5 is 30Hz whereas the CMC6 is "flat" to 20Hz.
Any advice?

Guitar Recording Tricks
Forums
Here is the situation...
I have recorded a lead guitar part and want to make it sound stereo WITHOUT recording another track to pair with it and then panning.
Does anyone have any tips on how to make a single guitar track sound like multiple panned guitar track?
Thanks for any advice, i know it is a bizarre request!

Big Muff π Mod Thread (With Clips)
Forums
I am posting this for those of us here who are fans of fuzz, Muff, and/or doom metal guitar sounds. I myself love fuzz, but I've always found the new Big Muffs to be a bit weak sounding to say the least. I have grown fond of modifying them back closer to a more 'vintage' Big Muff style sound, while putting my own spin on it.

Heavy PUNCH!
Forums
Hi guys... I was wondering... What is it that gives a song that heavy punchy sound. I've heard songs that are supposed to be a heavy song but doesn't have the punchy boom it needed. I am having that problem. I think it's the master that gives it that sound but Im not sure how to get it. Any tips?
PS - thanks so much for the help and God bless!

Suggestions for a FOH vocal preamp
Forums
I've decided to start upgrading my touring rack a little bit and one of the things I'd like to add is a decent vocal preamp. I know people say you don't really need it, but it's an option I'd like to have.
What I would really like is it to be flexible. This means a decent EQ section, a decent compressor, bonus points for de-esser and of course road-worthyness.
