We record a lot of voice overs at ALT Recording Studios in Brighton. I've been unable to find much advice on the web about recording the human voice.

I've given an overview of what we do but would love to hear any tips or techniques used.

I'm looking into getting the ol' Digi 001 system to play around with. Mostly just wanting to do acoustic stuff at home (on desktop PC), but I would also like to be able to do some live recordings at gigs as well using my laptop. I understand how the card works in a desktop but how do I use my laptop? And, I can use the software on both computers right (desktop-XP, laptop-Vista)?

I'm trying to learn Gsnap to correct some singing. How can I save the corrected audio track. I'm using Sony Sound forge. When I select Save, it saves the old track uncorrected.

I've tried and tried to get a really huge sound (with midi&recorded audio), a sound where you can't hear the room or the audio hitting the walls, but failed so many times.. :( Does anyone have any ideas how to do so? I've tried so many different reverbs and setting, tried recording it out of high quality speakers with good mic's and so on..

i have a ART HeadAmp4 and I'm trying to use it with a Tascam US1641 pre
I'm not really sure how or what cable i need to use these two together so i can mix with headphones and not with my monitors.

Im building an isolation cabinet to record guitars...I want to buy a 12" Celestion Greenback speaker for it. I have the option to buy it at 8 ohms or 16. What should I choose? Does it depend on the amp head?

I plan to run a couple different heads through it..

Ok so I recorded a whole session on PT 8 at 48 khz as opposed to 44.1. I have tried creating a new session and importing tracks to no success. When I recorded the clock source was my Digimax FS, so Pro Tools thinks it is a 44.1 session when it's actually a 48 khz session.

hey guys I have been working on a particular project for a long time now, and some of the stuff being recorded at home, 2 of the more acoustic songs have a good amount of hiss.

while I was at the studio the engineer really wanted me to try and retract the guitars with a better signal, but no matter what I can't seem to capture the same vibe as the originals with hiss.

I am a senior in high school and I am trying to earn myself an interning job as a recording studio in my home town. I think it would greatly help my chances of getting a job if I somewhat knew how to operate a Solid State Logic mixing console. I have never used one before and have no current access to one.
