Is there any merit to dropping a ton of dough on a power cable, or would any of these cheap ones do.

Does anybody else suffer from this? I’ve been tracking guitars all day, but I’ve done hardly any work. There’s probably nothing wrong with the performance, it probably sounds okay, but take after take I find something wrong with it and delete it and start again.

I have a ZOOM MRS-1044 which I've had for a few years. I've transferred tracks onto mini-disc which (somehow) I managed to transfer to my old PC via the mic input and put onto CD with no problems. I have replaced my PC and now find it cannot be done.

I have a Macbook (pretty much the same as last summers black model):
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Is that enough to run Garageband, Logic Studio, Ableton Live, and reason, plus all my school work.
Right now i have enough money to get the 24-inch : 2.66GHz iMac..

I have recently bought myself an M-Audio Fast Track USB recording device, to record music from my Casio CTK-810 into Ableton Live.

However things aren’t going as well as I’d planned.

I am planning to make the grand piano in my living room more mobile to make recording easier. I'd probably be moving it back and forth 10 ft or so over a hardwood floor about, say, a dozen times a year. My tuner/tech will provide and install.

I have a G5 2.5 (Tiger OS10.4.9) with Pro Tools LE 7.4 and 2- Glyph GTO50-250 external Hard drives. One hard drive is for recording and the other is the back-up drive.

I'm recording a 12-string acoustic guitar into a Shure KSM44 mic and into a Universal Audio SOLO/610 preamp into an Apogee Duet into my MacBook Pro running Logic Pro 8. The recording is very thin/tinny.

i've had this problem with every computer i've tried so far, with every DAW and every sound card i have. whenever i try to record, through either line-in or mic, this distorted sound appears more or less randomly every 1-3 minutes, and usually makes the recording skip. if anyone knows what this is/how to get rid of it, i would be very grateful.
