hey, I'm kind of new to the recording game and I'm looking for some advice. The type of music I'm going to be recording will be mostly progressive punk / metal.

I'm using ezdrummer for the drums, but I don't have enough money (or expertise) to buy a decent amp and mics for recording guitars. So, its a toss up between Guitar Rig 3 and the Line 6 Pod 2.0.

So, here is my situation, I'm working in a foreign country for a year. I obviously didn't ship my entire studio, in fact, I only brought the bare essentials: cheap interface, Audition 3.0, 2 cheap mics and some cables, decent headphones, and I bought a $150 acoustic from a local dealer.

Has anyone had any experience or own a TC Electronic Konnekt 8 Audio FireWire Interface?

I hear the 24D is great but how much of a difference is there between the two?

Also I am using a Macbook.. may be a problem? I have Logic Pro 8.. and good ol' garage band.

Hey ya'll, Im Ryan from Western New York and Im looking to set up a pro audion and lighting system to do sound/lighting for the local band scene. The locals here deserve much better than they are getting now. Im just wondering if I am in the right forum to ask for advice on getting the proper set up.

I have been searching a lot trying to find out more about these products. Heres my premise, I am looking to upgrade my computer and interface. I have a usb and want to get either Firewire or a PCI input. From what i read it would be a good move to get a nice interface with good pre's. I record in my room so there is no real studio, yet.
