Playing audio/midi tracks live

I hope this is the right forum, if not maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

I'm only researching at this point so I can't tell you what gear I use, because I don't have it yet. But, what I'm hoping to do is record a combination of MIDI and Audio tracks on a computer to be used as backing tracks for live performance. (I perform solo and in a duo).

Tonehunter - guitar tone customizing

I'm an old school guitarist of thirty some years used to an amp, a Morley volume/wah and a couple of pedals have done me fine.

A distributor friend of mine turned me onto this company today. After buzzing around the site, I'm impressed. Germany really has a lot of quality designers. Good on them!

Which audio interface should I choose?

Okay, so I have 5 down to choose from:

1. Tascam US 122L USB 2.0 w/ Cubase ($129.00)
2. Tascam US 144 USB 2.0 w/Cubase ($149.00)
3. Tapco Link.FIrewire 4x6 w/Tracktion ($100.00)
4. EMU 0404 USB 2.0 w/ Cubase ($200.00)
5. PreSonus Inspire 1394 Firewire w/ Cubase ($200.00)

I'm not sure which one to go with...

new subwoofer! *boing boing*

Hey,

I have an 8020A Left and Right pair.

I have been given a 7060B, but when I plugged it in, I hear a little, but not a lot. It says in the manual that this thing can deliver 85 <> of sound and to be careful, (implying it's loud!) so I was expecting a bit more rumble from this thing.

Am I doing something wrong?

Crackling, Vibrato, and "Underwater" Sounds When R

Hi,

I am a bit of noob when it comes to recording, but I am very confused by my issue...

I am trying to record my acoustic guitar using Music Creator 5 and a SM57 mic.

I tested the mic levels and it does not appear they are clipping, although they sometimes look a little low. I tried different buffer values and bit rates, but neither solved my problem.
