i have a delta 1010 m-audio 24bit audio recording system and a soundcraft spirit sx mixer. iv set it up so i can play music on my pc via the mixer/soundcard. problm is i cant get logic or any music production software to read my mic n the sliders on the mixer dont control anything. i dont think I'm wired right. i need help pls.

Wondering about using a high capacity SD card for tracking. Solid state memory should read/write faster than a HD, though I do have a 7200rpm drive with a 8m cache (16? not sure). I suppose this depends on bus speeds, etc, and where the SD is located in the physical (and virtual) hierarchy of the computer?

I'm new to recording songs, but I'm a good producer. Anyway, I need to know the basics of recording a song. How many times do you record the chorus or you record once and use reverb? Also do you record the chorus each time after the verse? Last and not least do you have to use compression or just mange the gain well? I mean what parts are commpression used on anyway?

We all know that during puberty and such is the most dramatic time, but even after that, does your voice still go through changes?

So yea, not the best keyboardist in the world here -- can Logic Express 8 do on-the-fly quantization when I'm recording in regions? The clean-up work after a take is a bit tedious, though I must admit that it's got me thinking about all of the soul and flavor that a region-wide quantization strips out of a take.

Me and my band are planning on getting a whole in ear monitoring system and drum mics to run loops and stuff. We already found our stuff for in ears, but I was wondering what could be a good option for the drum mics. I'm only looking for Shure stuff since we're getting a really good discount on them, but I still don't wanna go with the most expensive stuff out there.
