Ihave a song I'm working on. I work in Cubase on a Windows machine. When I play it through Cubase, it sounds as it should. Ditto for when i play it in Windows media.

Or is there a reason most condensers come in bi-directional?

I mix on (let me have it) Behringer Truths 2031a's and I think they sound good. But I have never used anything else and its time to upgrade. I started with a 600 budget and found the KRK Roket 8 Gen2's and the Mackie MR8's in that range and they seem to get good reviews. Well Adam 7's kept popping up all over other forums and I started looking at those.

My band had to use different speaker cabinets for our gig this weekend. One of our band members has a pair of sound techs dual 15" w/horn and a pair of single 15" sound techs w/ horn. The speakers are around 12 years old and had been in a storage unit with no heat or ac for most of the past 4 years.

I've been talking to a lot of drummers lately about getting a good drum sound at live gigs and it seems that a lot of them have the same problem. Even with the use of various dampners etc there still seems to be a problem in getting a good in particular tom and bass drum sound. For example we are using Sennheiser e604's on the main kit and AKG D112 on the bass drum.

I got a Macbook recently and was wondering If any of you know which sound card/interface would work well with it, ill be using Pro Tools or Cubase sx3.

I want something around 300-500 dollars, this will be mainly to record while Im on vacations and stuff like that.

Just about how much distance are you supposed to put between the mics and the source using this technique? How about for a drum set and a guitar amp.

-Toshiba Laptop w/ Intel dual core 2.0gHz, 4gb RAM, running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 32bit
-M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB interface
-SM57
-Sennheiser HD280 Headphones
-Ableton Live Lite, which came with the interface ;)

I will be using both midi and analog and will probably be getting a seperate, small mixer to control output levels.
