Amp Issues/Problems/Concerns

I dug an old 15 watt Marshall MG15 out of the basement for recording and realized why it was there in the first place. When I turn it on there is a high pitched tone that doesn't go away. It seems that all of the amp's regular gain settings occur between 0 and 1 on the knob and anything after that just gives horrible horrible feedback.

Newbie with an older monitor question

I have a pair of old studio monitors, Professional Audio Systems studio monitor 3's and a pair of crossovers that came with them aswell. I will be needing someone to point me in the right direction to get these things running in my home. What sort of power do they need etc etc etc. any advice much appreciated.

Overheads: Large or Small Diaphragm?

i am about to invest in some nice overheads, and am not sure weather to buy a matched pair of small condensers or 2 large diaphragm condensers, to use as overheads. I mostly record heavy rock/pop, and like my drums to sound huge. currently using D112 on the kick, sm57's on top and bottom of the snare, and on the toms. Does anyone have any advice on what type of overheads would suit me best?

FireWire Interface

Hi, I'm relatively new to the world of recording, and had a question that if answered would make my life a little easier. :D

So, I have an M-audio 410, which has 2 preamps.. Which essentially means I can record 2 tracks at once correct? I need a Firewire interface that can track 8 channels at once. I'm having trouble locating any that are rated well and are affordable. any ideas?
