Advice on setting up my project studio.

Hi!

I'm relatively new to recording and would be grateful if someone could help me with getting my gear setup to record.

I run a rehearsal studio with 3 rooms and will be using my office as a "control room" to record either rehearsals(basic recording) and/or multitrack recording of bands for demo's etc.

My gear consists of the following:

Shock mounts: elastic cord fix

Hello RO,
I have a couple of cheap shock mounts I got for a couple of MK-319's off ebay about ten years ago. Also, a third one for a AKG C4000B/414.

The black colored cord thats used to keep the shock mount strung has lost its elasticity. Does anybody know where to get more elastic cord and metal hardware to connect the ends?

So, a choir has just arrived from Bentonville, Arkansas, to our church. I went along tonight and the place was filled with flight cases.

I swear I could've jumped through the roof with joy, I honestly cannot believe that 12 flight cases of audio gear are sitting alongside our tiny little setup of err, a Phonic mixer and some PG58s.

Tascam porta-studio help?

I am by no means a home recording guru - as a matter of fact, I know almost nothng. I recently got a brand new Tascam digital portastudio DP-02, and I can't seem to get it to playback after recording a track. I've looked in the manual and can't find anything relating to this problem - it should be able to playback right after laying down a track. Any suggestions?
