what is the best possible thing you would put an MD421 mic on?

that is, if you only have 1 md421, what would you use it for? obviously it'd be nice on a tom, but without matching mics would you really want to?

Hi all this is my first post and if i keep running into silly little problems like this then there will be more to come, ive got a Tascam us1641 interface and I'm running the Cubase 4 le software that comes with it, ive pretty much know my way round Cubase to record edit add effects compression etc.

Hello hello. I just came across this site and it looks pretty cool.
Anyway,
so my friend and I are moving out to Arizona in a few months to pursue our band, etc. We've checked out some studios online, and also some studios in our area, and obviously with great quality comes great prices.

So I am a college student, and I have a workstudy job in one of the buildings on campus. There is a history of Post-Production work at my college, so there is vintage stuff laying around all over. So I was organizing a pile of chair cushions in the basement, and lo and behold, there is an Ampex tape machine sitting under them.

after a few weeks of lurking, i noticed something. this can be a brutal place for a neophyte. i see many questions answered with pretentiousness, attitude and hostility. since i fall into the area between expert and newbie (somewhere comfortable in the mediocre area) i have a public service bulletin for both extremes.

My brother is going to see Papa Roach perform live. I want to go so bad but I don't know where they're performing next? Anyone Know?

I've finished 3 home recordings recently. I have only been recording for a few weeks so they're not perfected, but i'm quite happy with them. They're my first attempts and i haven't shown many people so feedback would be fantastic! Please have a listen and give me some feedback! Thankyou very much!
