Try not to tear me apart, I did search but didn't find what I wanted to know.

Right now I have a PreSonus FP10, nothing crazy by all means but does home stuff pretty well.

But I was looking at some of the Pro Tools stuff, and I noticed that their interfaces don't have any mic inputs.

I'm guessing thats because it isn't a preamp as well...

I just started using Cubase 4 and am fairly new to midi.

I've noticed the drum map for the midi keyboard in C4 and I have my Ensoniq ESQ1 hooked up via midi. I've noticed that I can get more sounds from the drum map than I can from what the keyboard will access on the map.

Just joined because I thought I could get some good advice on a recording setup I'm contemplating. I have a stand-alone Yamaha AW2816 Digital Audio Workstation which is OK, but I don't care for the mixdown and CD Burn process. I was thinking about getting an audio interface for my G4 Mac Mini and using the Yamaha to record the tracks, then mixdown to the computer.

XY mics on a drum kit - roughly above the toms pointing at cymbals. Placement give or take.
The kit and in fact, the band, isn't very loud and this is while the band is singing at a rehearsal.

Good thing? Not the best thing? Terrible idea?

So, I've got Cubase LE with my US-122 usb interface and am trying to use this program to interface with a keyboard via midi.

What would be the ideal setup for a direct setup to minimize distortion with all the outputs in inputs I have avail between all this equipment?

I'm looking for a digital mixer to use with garage band or logic studio. It would have to be USB because apple decided that the new macbook users weren't good enough for firewire. Im having a hard time finding a USB mixer that would work with garage band. And It would need to be under $300. Please Help! Thank you!
