I am a bit new to recording and ive been busy building a home studio since the last 3 months lets say..

this is what ive got

hi guys, i'm guitarist and i want to buy some cheap and still resonable quality mixer, power amp and pair of maybe 15" loudspeakers with pair of subs for using in locales of around 100-150m2 size (where we usually play)...

I'm purchasing a UA 1176 compressor, Great River ME-1NV pre, and an Avalon M5 preamp, and API plugins as well, just wondering what is the best a/d converter to buy for my setup. I'll be recording acoustic guitar, vocals, piano, strings.

Need some recomendations on some hard drives...

-Needs to be firewire 800 or esata
-320gb-500gb
-Mac and PC compatible so I can take it studio to studio (important!)

recomendations on specific models etc?

Hi guys, i have just finished building a baby animal preamp kit to use with my Delta 1010 soundcard. I was wondering the best way to connect to the soundcard and whether there are any settings in the control panel to allow me to optimise the quality of my recordings.

Would i imagine its a means of simply going from the baby animal preamp output to the RCA input of the Delta card?

Hey, does anyone know if they ship to Canada?

Seems like I get myself in the same problem over and over again lately. How do I get the drum OH's to have some life without them sounding like an 1/8" drill bit in the ear drums. This is how I've been recording them lately

i need some help recording my housemates gig this weekend.

Its guitar and vocals, with a couple of solos thrown in here and there from a second guitar. the vocals go to one amp and the guitars each go to their own.

i recorded on a camcorder last time and i must admit i was pleasently surprised by the result, so i always have that to fall back on.

I need a pop filter (or two). Two questions.

1) Are there significant sonic differences between foam & screen?

2) If not, I'm inclined towards foam. But prices for the name brand filters are simply outrageous. Can anyone suggest where I might find a reasonable source for filters that might fit

Is it possible to connect m-Audio Black Box wit M-audio Keyrig 49 ? I mean I want to use M-Audio black box as a sound card for keyrig ? Or should I connect the keyrig directly to my computer . will it provide me the sound I want without any latency ?
