How to slice up wave as separate files
Forums
Ok, I'm working in Cubase LE. I'm trying to record one long track that I will slice into separate samples. Every time I use the split tool to devide the track, it is still the same wave. How do I make it so that each slice is a new wave file, and how do I make it so that it is not the same size as the orginal full wave, but only that little slice.

firestudio / audiofire macbook pro compatibility
Forums
I just bought a new macbook pro and am going to buy an audio interface soon. I'm interested in the firestudio, but am not sure it will be compatible with my macbook due to some things I've read. Here is what the guy from PreSonus told me to look for.

overpower/underpower monitors
Forums
everyone knows the old "better to overpower than underpower" saying when it comes to passive speakers.
but WHY?
when your amp is way overrated for speakers, you use the trim knob to keep from blowing speakers, right? (for example, if your amp pushes 1000w and your speakers handle 250, then you'd keep the amp's trim knob pretty low).

isolating electrical noise in monitors
Forums
So I've recently noticed that when my monitors are on (with nothing playing/coming out of them) that I have some really bad white noise going on. I'm not certain why I haven't heard it before, but the only thing that I can think of is that my room has recently been treated with various Auralex items as well as some thick curtains, etc. It's basically a lot more quiet and revealing.

Good/Cheap combo amp?
Forums
Im looking for a good, cheap combo amp in the neighborhood of $299 or less. Somthing that will sound good with a mic jammed in its speaker. I don't know how many watt's or what size of speaker you would want to have to get a good sound for recording.

Grado SR80 vs SR325I?
Forums
More than anything else, I'm interested in these just for listening to music.
I have two pair of Grado SR80 cans. I love 'em. Actually one of them is SR60 with big ear pads, but I popped the ID buttons off years ago and can't tell which is which. They sound identical to me.
