Hi all, would the following parts be suitable for building a PC for a DAW?

CPU – Core 2 Duo E4500

RAM – 2GB DDR2, PC2-5300 (667) non-ECC, 240 DIMM unbuffered (2x1GIG KIT)

MOBO – Gigabyte GA 945 GZM-S2, i945 GZ S775 PCI-E (x16), DDR2, 533 SATA2, uATX, On Board VGA Motherboard

HD – 250GB Seagate Barracuda, SATA2, 7200RPM, 8MB Cache

I am planning to do a live recording. I was thinking to use the line output on the FOH mixer. But I was wondering, should I go directly to my converter or should I go through some of my preamps as well?.. I have 6 good preamps (API and Green river). Or will this degrade the sound? (I think the FOH mixer is a Allen&Heat 48chn)

On the back of the Ramsa ther are 2 phono ins. Yes I said Phono ins.
Now. There are no switchs or knobs to control these inputs.. So Im assuming that they are on a direct path to the master bus.

Hi, I'm new to recording.org!

Just want to say hi, and tell you about my first impressions of RO:
On a first glance, it seemed to be less full of OT flaming than most other forums, so I decided to stay, sign up, and introduce myself.

I assign the effect to the relevant track and can hear it through the monitor, however, after recording on playback the effect is not there. can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? also, is it possible to add effects to a track after it has been recorded on this Tascam? many thanks

I'm looking for a reverb processor, mostly for vocals and acoustic guitar. Has anyone had experience with these two models? How would they compare?

Are there any other options that I should also be considering?
