I have seen that many studios have a variety of gear to choose from. As far as my home studio goes... I have a really good bass rig (ampeg, rocktron etc) but nothing else. I need some advice, if i I should save for something like Tama Rockstar with zildjian cymbals, and may be some guitar equipment.

Looking for a 20ish input digital studio. Want things to be simple and based on good clean signals into a very good PC. Will use plugin 's and Cubase. This is what I've come up with so far.

Will there be any latency difference if i go to a 25' midi cable vs a 10'?

I just got an 80 GB ipod, i have been told to get an external HD for recording onto because it puts to much stress or something on the internal one. i was planning on getting another drive but now that i have a large ipod is it even nesicary or can i just use my ipod

Hello, I'm new here. I just bought an OpAmp Labs mixer at a garage sale for $50. It's the 8 channel version of the 1204-tv. I'm not sure of the model #, but the preamps and eq sections are the same as the 1204. I saw one selling on ebay for about 100 times what I payed! Can anyone else tell me more about this piece? thanks!

OMG. how f'in stressful.

It was so easy hooking up large sound systems compared to figuring out this Roland 2400 POS. It sounded good so it's not really a POS just the instructions are.

Hopefully by the end of the week I will have a complete guitar jam, then I have to figure out how to cut a CD and get it on Soundclick.

Hi, I'm new to this. Am a songwriter, musician, singer. Am considering investing in a dp01fxCD, the Tascam. Looks like a lot of wam for the wampum (around $450). Only thing, I hate the "only record two tracks at a time" part. Cant even record 2 guitars and vocal live (on seperate tracks). Is there any option short of the Tascam twenty four track thing?

I'm pretty much new to computer-based recording.

It's 2 Ghz and only has 256 MB RAM. I wanna upgrade it to 1 gig.

I'm planning on ditching my previous Firebox plan. I really have no idea if I'd be better off quality-wise using firewire or with PCI; I just know that PCI would be a lot cheaper for me.
