Acoustic Guitar Micing
When I listen to the acoustic guitar as I play, the highs stand out the most to me and they sound crisp. Everything sounds like it’s in its proper place. When I record it the mids and lows take over and the highs sound dull. Can this problem be overcome or helped by mic placement? I’ve tried many different arrangements using an SM57 and a Shure Prologue.

What's your opinions on size of room, room surfaces, getting that crystal hi end country sound, or just the details of the best acoustic guitar sound you've ever gotten.
Anybody heard Kevin Gilbert's "Shaming of the True"? The ultimate in Ac Gtr sounds IMO. Anybody have a clue on how he did it?

Help Recording Vocal and Stereo Guitar Simultaneously
I've posted this previously, but I have more questions that might be answered fully. The suggestions that were provided included the use of figure 8 pattern, which I don't have with any of my current mics. I need to record a guy playing guitar and singing at the same time.
Mic choice and placement?
Hi all, I've attached a short clip of an acoustic part. I can't get it to sound anything like I want it to. I think part of the problem is my lack of mics. How would you guys approach recording a part like this. The tune is mostly just this part and a vocal. How would you mic the guitar and what mics/pres would you choose that you think might suit the part?

Recording Crappy Acoustics
So I am working with a pretty talented band, but the rythym guitar player insists on playing all acoustic, but has a crappy Ovation that cant even stay in tune for a whole song.
I have tried every single one of my mics, all my pre's. nothing is working.
