I did a search but came up with nada.

I'm looking for software that will recreate the sounds of acoustic instruments reasonably well. What I'm after is something where there was a microphone, a player, and a studio involved in creating it. I'd want it to include electric bass for sure.

The same idea for drums would be great.

Any recommendations?

My friend wants to start using his PC for recording his acoustic guitar and vocals.
I told him to get an interface and then he should be able to download some free recording software that he can use with it.
He only needs about 2 tracks...no more than 8.
What products should I recommend to him?

Hi everyone. I have been trying, with no luck to record my acoustic guitar with a DM-500 dynamic microphone hooked directly to my sound blaster audigy 2 platinum sound cards front Mic in 2 input. It has a level control also. The results are terrible. From looking around on this forum it seems that I need a Preamp to do this properly. Can I use this preamp?

I'm trying to get a good acoustic guitar sound while recording through my 896hd. However, I need to turn the gain up on the preamp so high that even when I'm getting a moderately good level (not clipping on my MOTU or in Logic), it sounds massively distorted, like very harsh clipping or something similar. I've tried different mics, different mic placements, different mic cords, etc.

I need some help, which mics( $1000.00 and under) and what preamp( $500.00 and under) should I use. I'm considering a KSM 44 and and the AT 40's series, and a Gefel. thanks

Since an acoustic guitar is a single sound source, does recording in stereo sound realistic? I was doing an A/B with my song recorded with 2 mics, and the acoustic version of Dave Matthews' "Gravedigger" in which the guitar sounds great, but seems to be in mono.

I am wondering if anyone uses floor speakers as monitors. I was looking around today and found some good deals on some Boston Acoustic cr85 bookcase speakers and a Klipsch f1 set of floor speakers. Has anyone used either of these? Are you satisfied? Would anyone recommend another set of speakers?

I am currently looking for a new condenser mic for stereo Micing my acoustic guitar (Jean Larrivee), in my isolation booth. Presently, i record with an SE2200a and an MK012, through a dbx 386. It seems i'm lacking the natural and open sounds i'm looking for.

Im looking for any user out there that record the acoustic drum tracks,then use the sound from the recorded tracks to trigger the DM5anybody?
Does it work?-----how good?-----give me all the good and bad-----I need info!!
