i'm beginnig to work in a small studio, we have got a Yamaha 03D to work with.
My idea was to connect the 03 to a MOTU 2408 in that way:
8 channel ADAT----2408 ADAT in's
4 analog buses----2408 4 analog in's

I have purchased an Echo Gina 24 interface to run on a pentium 4 pc. The card included Cubasis VST bundled with the software...the card recieves the input from the ADAT (8 lines at once) this is all good...but the software will not allow the signal to register within the program. What have I misconfigured?

Lately, because I think the ADAT XT-20 converters sound better than MOTU 2408's, I'll record-enable my ADAT XT 20 and feed this straight out through the lightpipe to the 2408 where it is recorded to Digital Performer. So only one analog to digital conversion is happening, though ADAT is passing off to MOTU via a very cheap cable. Am I crazy?

I did a three piece band on ADATs, thru a Tascam board. Made a ruff mix of one of the songs on the Tascam. Then, digitally transferred the ADATs into Pro Tools LE, set to the same sampling rate and bit depth. Tried a ruff mix internally in Pro Tools, and the ruff I did off the ADATs thru the Tascam desk squashes the Pro Tools mix like a grape!

I just added an old blackface ADAT to my system ... Celeron 1G, 512m RAM, 7200 rpm HDs, Delta 1010 audio card, WinME. I'd like to find someone running a similar system (i.e., adding an ADAT to an existing hard-drive recording setup) with the same hardware (Deltas).

Hello, I am computer stupid. I have several recordings done with my ADATXT. What GOOD QUALITY hardware and software do I need to to hook my ADAT XT to my Gateway computer so I can get the recordings in the computer, add effects including compression and burn to CD without much complication. I'm having a hell of a time getting ADATS to lock up with Pro Tools. I've followed the directions closely I think,but still no love from the little buggers.
We've got mix plus,Control 24, USD, BRC, ADAT bridge (last in line behind 2 888's) and two Black face ADATS.
If anyone has used this set up we'd really appreciate some help.

So I am up in Syracuse NY doing a record and I am yet again stuck doing a record on ADATs heres the thing. There is no place to get ADATs in Syracuse so I bought some Super VHS tapes @ Best Buy. The guy has XT 20s and the Super VHSs seemed to format fine, what I am wondering is do these tapes work well as ADAT Tapes.

is there anybody still using ADATs? I kept an LX 20 for Back Ups of my hard-disk recorders. I need to back up my hard-drives today and the machine simply won't record. All tracks record enabled, press Rec. and Play the thing starts to roll but the rec. button keeps blinking and nothing is recorded. Anyone knows this problem or has dealt with it? Any help is greatly appreciated!
