Greetings all, my first post here. I've read lots of useful info here and now I'm after some specific info.

Okay, I am just going to repost this because I made the same post over in the pro gear section. God forbid I want pro advice. Now I'm spamming by making a double post. Great.

I am just starting out recording live sound on my own. I previously worked with my school recording the school bands and I was spoiled by having beta58s and AT 4041s(i think) and then an Allen&Heath GL2200 series console. I would love to be able to spend that kind of money but I cant.

I'm currently using Cubase VST 5.1 (Mac) in conjunction with an Akai S5000 & a Technics WSA-1 synth, along with my guitar rig & recording drums from a TD12 midi kit. My Mac (G3 ibook) won't go much further due to ramm resitictions.

I have the Sony C800GPAC condenser studio microphone. i also have the Mackie Digital X Bus. i also have the Echo Audiofire 12 Firewire interface. so my question is that, will it be a good combination?

Im looking for a compressor right now, and I just wanted some reviews on some of the Comp's you guy's use. .
