Hello all, I'm interested in buying a mic preamp and don't have a large budget (unfortunately) but I've come across the PreSonus Blue Tube DP mic preamp. The online reviews seem to be mostly positive. However I was wondering if anyone here has any expirence with it or other PreSonus mic preamp's. I'll be running it into my Digi 002. Thank you!

I haven't purchased a new guitar in quite a few years, and I don't remember much of anything when it comes to technical specs of these things. What wood types tend to give off what types of sounds as opposed to things that are just there for cosmetics.

For my new DAW i'm gettign a Matrox G450 dualhead 32mb card. Since my budget is limited i can only afford a 2nd hand. I've no experience with the card so i was wondering if it's trustworthy to get second hand?

I was looking for some advice for mic preamps. I am looking for a well rounded preamp that would be good for metal (distorion) and Vocals. My budget is around $2,000. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, any advice on the preamps that have a eq feature on them too would awesome.

I like the Alesis HR-16. The drums are more natural and more tunable than on the later Alesis modules I've tried. But I could use a little more fi, especially on the dreaded cymbals.

i've started slowly setting up a "basement studio", as of right now my set up consists of:

-My computer
-Yamaha mg16/4 mixer
-a mic from like walmart(actually isn't too bad)
-nady cm90
-and various amps that spend time at my house due to this is also my bads practice space(I play drums)
