How Do I/Do I Need To Register My Band Name?
It's a name which I'm not seeing any incarnations of online for the exact phrasing I'm using. There's an instance of the bandname proceeded by "The", but I'm not using "the" so technically it's different.
Anyways, I wanted to know what's the protocol for locking down a name legally so no one sneaks it away from me later?

Big Band Drum Sound
Hey guys, this is my first post.
I've picked up so much from you all, I think it's great that so many people can exchange ideas all in one place, a good way to stop us all from jumping into habits at the tracking stage in particular, full of new ideas to try out :)

Hi
I've been positioned as 'sound guy' for my band as we're trying to put together some rough recordings of a few songs. The setup we have is as follows:

Help: Garage band + recording Setup
To sum up the background if you just want to skip to the numbered questions: I have mid-low or economy class instruments, think a garage band with 2 electric-acoustics, bass, drums, keyboard, 2 mics.

What should you do when band members want to change the name of your band?
Okay, I'm got a jazz/fusion quartet that's recorded a CD; played a couple of higher profile gigs like music festivals and being the prelude act to a Johnny Matthas concert, aside from playing some jazz clubs. We've got a website with our domain name that's actually being overhauled by a web designer as I write.
Trademarking a band name, what Class is it?
Hey guys,
When trademarking a band name, it asks for the "class" it is under. Does anyone know what class it is? The best I could find was "entertainment" class 41.
Thanks!

Recording drums for deathcore/metal band next saturday...any words of wisdom?
Im an audio/video student in northern illinois, my band is tracking drums for our demo and I just wanted to see what kind of advice everyone could throw at me. I plan to close mic toms/snare/kick (2 mics on kick, a bd mic near the outer rI'm and an sm57 near the beaters to get the "click" that us metalheads love) and then doing x-y Micing for the overheads.
