Heaven forbid - a band that actually WANTS dynamics
Hey guys -
Just thought I'd share cuz it doesn't happen everyday.
I just started working on a project for a California-based band (After the Crash).
recording band live.
My band has been working on recording live in our little studio and I had a question about volume. i heard that when a cabinet is turned up loud it makes the bass notes peak higher. is this true? If then should we record our disstorded amps not cranked to get a more even sound?

3 Band Compressor: How to use
I am completely familiar with a normal single band compressor and have used one many times (for an amature). I would love to get some advice from some of the more experienced members of the forum on how to approach using a three band compressor.

Multi band compression/expansion
I need a primer on multi band compression/expansion. I have heard it is good for removing unwanted reflections from dialog recordings, but I'm a little muzzy on the hows and whys. Any insight would be appreciated.

Micing drums for a rock band in my studio for the 1st time

However i have been asked by a friend to consider recording a project with a rock band using all real instruments and have no experience at all with Micing drums. I have listed my euipment below..
Kid's choir and band recording
So I am helping some people at a local church to record their band/choir. I wish I had more experience to offer, but instead I'm just running off instinct.

Multitracking a band on my laptop
I would like to record my band, live, in a multitrack format with my laptop using Sonar as my software. I've determined that I need some type of interface in-between my mixer and my USB port, the majority of which (USB interfaces) seem to only have 2 inputs. Is this maneuver even possible considering that the drums will take 6 tracks, 2 guitar tracks and a bass?

Outdoor Band Concert Recording
We just recorded an outdoor band concert. It was something we do on a yearly basis. I get one shot at doing the concert with no rehearsals and no retakes. This year's concert came off very well except that they "added" some vocalist to the program. They did this without letting us know about it in advance.
