Right, my original plan for the CPU was AMD 4200+ 64bit however, the 3800+ 64bit is £70 cheaper.

I've got a load of foreign quests (metal festivals and such), and the extra £70 saved would be cool.

Now, my music is heavy metal. i use Drumkit from Hell superior, Kontakt 2 and my pod XT pretty much.

Hey Everybody. So, I know these types of questions come up quite a bit but I was hoping some of you can point me in the right direction for building a project Studio for somewhere in the area of 9k.

A couple of questions I have on building a DAW

Is it really neccesary to have an 8mb cache drive for the system drive?

Can I get away with one drive for OS and 2 external firewire drives for audio? Will the PC freak mixing 24 tracks with plugs?

yea, due to the recent crash of my old computer, which was due for replacement anyway, i have made a decision to build my own custom computer. something that can withstand alot, for the fact that i spend hours on it a day. so i was wondering what you's all suggest in the way of parts an specs

hey all i decided to convert my garage in to a digital recording studio

i was going to get myself a mac but it is just too expensive and after reading several "pc vs macs" threads i decided to build myself a pc

i will be buying most of my hardware from ebay/computer fairs but i was wonderin if you guys can help me out what i need to buy
