Classical music on location recording what do you think
Hi, my name is Paul. I am electrical engineering student in the latter half of my BS degree, and happen to be a violinist. I have been recently investing some of my time on the behalf of my girlfriend’s interest to do some small on location recording. This interest of hers is driven by her graduate application (ma and phd) requirements for her degree in music composition.

Hello! I need help
here's my story: I have to record a young solo pianist (classical) to make a portfolio CD, the pieces are some of late Schumann's work, some Chopin etudes and some Scriabine. ( basically romantic but very virtuose with lots of dynamic)

Solo Classical Guitar
Hi everybody.

Classical Guitar Mics
Just heard the Royer Labs demo CD, and I must say that the Schoeps 221B mic sounded SWEET on classical guitar! I couldn't find it for sale anywhere (I guess cause it's old), but on the Schoeps website directxfiles.com, it said that they have a NEW "improved" version called the M 222 B. Does it really sound as good as the 221?

Classical Guitar on a budget
I have an Alesis board, Alesis AI3 Converters, 2 SM57s, 1 AKG 3000b, an AKG 590S dynamic, a Audio-Technica MB4000C condensor, 2 Radio Shack dynamic omnis (made by Shure) and a waiting client. I have never recorded classical guitar before and would like to know what others have tried on such a low budget.

non hernia analog 2 track for classical?/my DSD experien
Hi everyone,
So does anyone have any suggestions about a non-hernia, bad ass, two track reel-to-reel for less (hopefully way less) than $14k? I was wondering what people used to use back in the day for stereo Classical recording in the field (in the days before dat)... I already have two channels of dolby SR lying around the house...
