First post on this forum..i feel like I stumbled on a gold mine! its great!

Confused between Layla 3g and an RMEmultiface with pci interface. The RMEsetup will cost me $300 more and I will not be getting two mic preamp-amps...I dont know too much about the AD/DAs on both cards..

Does anyone know if the Layla3G mic preamps are any good? At what level do you think they would come in at? i.e. as good as a PreSonus micpre, VTB-1 or Mackie pre?

Im looking for a new Audio Interface to replace chepoid Soundblaster Live 24. Im looking for 6 inputs to combine to 2 stereo outs (1 for headphone). I drew a line in the sand with Delta Lite to compare to.

Anyone have anything good or bad to say about the Echo Layla soundcard and breakout box? I'm bidding on one on E-bay, just want to make sure I'm doing a good thing...so far the price is a frikkin' steal, but there's still a few days to go. I also saw an API luchbox, current bid was around $250, so that's tempting as well. Got to ask myself, at what point will my wife ACTUALLy kill me? LOL!

the speakers i have at this moment only have 1/8 out (my friend tells me they are surround sound) and the ehco mia/midi has 2 sets of 1/4 right an dleft, making it hard to go from surround sound to the two 1/4, i am wondering, if i keep my old sound card for output(speakers) and use the new one for recording and such in 24 bit, is it worth it, considering i am going ot be eventually compressing

How do you get an 1/8 inch cable into the Echo IO when most cables out of a mixer are 1/4 inch? I know there are 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch cables, but is the quality good?

I'm planning on going out of my laptop into a TMD-1000, then out of the TMD-1000 back into the laptop...
