I'm wondering if anyone here has tried this laptop for audio, I'm thinking of getting it + a PreSonus firebox.

I have heard that IBMs are generally good but there may be IRQ conflicts with the firewire bus on this particular model. Hence the only way to know is see if someone else has tried...

Hi, I'm looking for a firewire interface that is £300 and under
It should have at the minium 4 mic inputs, and 4 1/4" jack inputs
could anyone recommend a good one ?

My MOTU 828 seems to have developed a fault as it will cut out and start popping and clicking after an hours use. It is a few years old now and I no longer have a receipt.

Does anybody know of a repairer in the UK for audio gear like this, or do you think MOTU could repair the unit?

My 828 MKII make a weird noise when i turn it on. It seems that the power transformation went bad in some way…

The quality of the audio chain stays the same but the sound that i ear from the unity is very unpleasant.

Other people in this forum experience the same thing?

A friend of mine just ordered a PC laptop and asked me what audio
interface I recommended for up to $300.

firewire ran through pci card

It will occasionally stop playing music and make this whining noise on playback then start playing music again. I updated the drivers and that didn't help. Is it because of the crappy computer configuration?

Hi, I just purchased the MOTU on a whim because I got it for 250 bucks from a friend in need. I use mostly sonar5 but I have used just about everything in the way of software. I really like the features of this card over firepods i currently use. I was going to buy RME but if the MOTU works out then ill probably go that route.

hi. I need help on which firewire audio interface to choose. Ive been decided on a saffire for months now but i only juts realised its got like 4 inputs! i want to be able to record drums(7 mics), synths, guitars and stuff so i need like at least 10 inputs preferably.
