FireWire Interface

Hi, I'm relatively new to the world of recording, and had a question that if answered would make my life a little easier. :D

So, I have an M-audio 410, which has 2 preamps.. Which essentially means I can record 2 tracks at once correct? I need a Firewire interface that can track 8 channels at once. I'm having trouble locating any that are rated well and are affordable. any ideas?

Cheapest 2 channel firewire interface for bedroom recording?

PreSonus Inspire?

I'm looking for something for my friend who sings and plays piano and just wants to get a relatively clean recording. Right now she's just using her computer's built in mic/card and getting very noisy results without the ability to adjust the input gain. So I'm looking for a very simple firewire interface. Budget is the main consideration.

MOTU larger than 828MKII vs. 24 version vs. PreSonus/ other ?

Hi, I am planning on buying a macbook pro soon, likely 17inch, upgrading to 7200 RPM, and maybe the 4 gigs of Ram option.
Eventually I'd like to be able to do some portable multitrack recording on it. I was reading up on tweaks guide and lots of other things I could find on the net. I have a question regarding the MOTU 828MKII 24/96 Audio Interface.
