Description

The MOTU 828mk11 multi ch, which driver

In the manual for the 828 it says
"If your host audio software does not support WDM drivers,
enable wave driver compatibility in the MOTU audio WDM driver
so that all of the 828mk11's inputs and outputs show up in your software."

What it means is to enable the (MME) drivers which are less efficiant and
it even states it.

Question about firewire interfaces

Hi. I currently work with an M-audio 1010LT. Not high end I know. I would definitely like to have at least 16 channels of I/O into my DAW and have looked at many ways to achieve this. MOTU seems to be the first thing that comes to mind in the PCI arena. There are also a lot of firewire interfaces with up to 8 channels like the PreSonus stuff and Alesis.

MOTU 828 users, how do you send sounds out the ADAT out?

i just bought an 828mkII second hand, and until i get the 896 and a new computer, i'm just going to use the 828 as an a/d converter for all my external preamps and amp simulators. but i can't seem to get the 8 anologue ins to go out the lightpipe out, hmmm, and the module didn't come with a manual either, and MOTU wants me to pay 20 bucks to get a manual. .

PCI/Firewire Interfaces @ 96k w/ DIGIMAX FS?

I have a PreSonus DIGIMAX that I would like to run all 8-ADAT inputs into an interface that will accept them at 96k (if at all possible). I also want the interface to have a few of it's own inputs and even a second ADAT input. I have a Sony Vaio PC with Windows XP Media Center and I use Cubase SX3, so it will have to be compatable with all of those.

How to connect external drive - laptop - firewire interface

I just made the plunge into firewire recording, just ordered a 16 channel firewire mixer. I am really nervous about the latency issue, I had a standalone unit which does not have that problem. How do I go about connecting a external firewire hard drive and the interface together on a laptop? Most recommend an external drive for recording.

questions on firewire interface

hello, i am a musician, but new to recording work. i wish to do a professional quality recording in the most affordable way. so i prefer to buy a firewire interface rather than a usb interface. a Yamaha personal firewire interface GO46 has caught my attention. it has two firewire ports, both are 6-pin type. however, my dell laptop has only one 1394 firewire port, it is a 4-pin firewire port.
