guitar amps
ok so due to some accidents and poor judgements i have to buy a new amp. I'm only working with about 350$ to 500$ dollars here.
I'm recording anything from pure clean to all out heavy distortion and possibly everything in between...
any suggestions?

Pro Guitar Sound
Hi guys,
My current situation is, I have an M-Audio MobilePre USB preamp, which I use for my mic / guitars. I'm using Guitar Rig 3 for amp modeling, inside of Cubase SX 3.

Micing guitar cabs
I would like help deciding what the best mic choices are for my particular needs/budget.
I have a very modest home studio.
I have a purpose built PC for my recording.
MOTU 8pre is my external interface.
Cubase SE3 is my recording software.

Hum in Guitar Amp/ DI question
Before I purchased the Minimee tube amp I would frequently record a guitar amped (solidstate) and direct by employing a Roland A/B/Y switch routed as follows Guitar to Roland switch A to amp B direct to one of my PreSonus FP instrument channels. This never gave me any problems. When I tried this same routing with the tube amp I encountered an unacceptable level of hum in the amp.

Warming up 12 string acoustic guitar?
I'm recording a 12-string acoustic guitar into a Shure KSM44 mic and into a Universal Audio SOLO/610 preamp into an Apogee Duet into my MacBook Pro running Logic Pro 8. The recording is very thin/tinny.

MIDI Guitar
Hi everyone, sorry if this is the wrong section, just didn't know where else it could go.
I bought a cheap project guitar that I would LOVE to make into a midi beast. I'm just not sure if I have the right stuff. I was hoping it would go like this:

Difference in these guitars?
Simple question I'm sure, but what is the difference between acoustic guitars with and without a clear coat on them?
I was thinking about maybe lightly sanding the front of mine and either using a different color stain, or getting artistic on it with some paint.
Inputs?

how to mic the guitar
hello again everyone...
i have a question about Micing my guitar (amp)...
first of all should i use a condenser (mxl 990) or dynamic mic (Shure pg48)? the dynamic seems to work better for me but maybe its because I'm not doing something right with the condenser?

How to rceord an acouostic bass guitar
Hi. Next week I have a session booked next week where I (may) have to record an acoustic bass. I have plenty experience in acoustic guitar miking, but was wondering if anyone could offer me advice on placement, and mic selection, this being a very different beast. The guitar has a pickup, but would want to capture some of the guitar body sound as well as the direct sound.
