Correct way to double a guitar?

Hi. I want to know what is the correct way to have the same guitar on each channel (left/right)? Ive done one track, cloned it, put one left and one right. Then i offset one a bit so there's not phase issues but i cannot get the channels to sound tight. it just sounds like a crappy delay effect is on. Must i do a second track and get it exactly perfect to the first or is there other ways?

Ok,

The vocals in the beginning are only for reference.

I have gotten the lead and vocals sounding great (IMHO) but the rhythm guitar just isn't clear.

I want those clear treble highs. Is there anything I can do EQ wise to bring them out more?

Studio Projects C4 mic for acoustic guitar?

I record a lot of acoustic guitar in my home studio. I currently switch between an AT4040 and an SM57. The 57 sounds, well, like a 57 - a bit chunky for guitar. The AT4040 has a slight kick in the low mids that make my guitar and mandolin sound a bit boxy. I usually have to EQ it out. So, I'm looking for an additional mic for acoustic guitar/mandolin/fiddle micing.

The title pretty much explains the purpose of this thread. Finding a guitar head and speaker combo that really works well for a particular purpose can be tough. Some of us may have found what we think is the perfect combination, while others accept the shortcomings of a certain head thinking that the warts are something that are just unavoidable.

Guitar Micing question

I have a Senneiser e609 and when I mic my cabinet I have to crank the volume really loud to get some decent output BUT when I just talk in the mic it pics up everything just fine.

I run it through a firebox and have to put the gain all the way up. I'm placing the mic right against the cab in the middle of the bottom part of the speaker.

Am I placing the mic wrong?
